Adobe Illustrator CS5 Tutorial

What is Adobe Illustrator?

Adobe illustrator is a powerful and popular software for creating and editing a specific type of images called ‘Vector images’. Illustrator is used for creating various forms of artwork including logos, shapes, cartoons, caricatures, website themes, backgrounds etc.

Vector images are simply images that are not made up of dots or pixels. Thus their size can be increased or decreased to any limit without any loss of quality to the image, unlike the usual image type which is made up of pixels and quality is affected, specially on zooming in. (Details in next lesson- Types of images)

Illustrator is available for both Windows and Mac Users.
